CANADA ENDS AUSTRALIAN DREAM OF GOLD
This morning Canada ended the Australian team’s dream of playing for a Gold medal at the World Games. Although it is too late to get into the finals, they finally show why they were the number 1 seeds playing great defence and integrating their women more into the game – with devastating effect.

Both teams have a strong hucking game and like to run hard. However the Canadians were also willing to play more conservatively and at the end of the game, this gave them a crucial advantage. They really ramped up their defence in the second half and pressure on the dump won them blocks which they then converted. Australia played too speculatively – either overthrowing to their intended receiver or throwing to aerial contests. Canada win the game 13:9.
